My first live experience with U2 was in the early 90's. I was a freshman at Purdue University and was invited to go see U2 in Chicago. The venue was the World Outdoor Music Theatre. Virtually my first live rock concert up until that point in my life. Needless to say what a phenomenal first experience. Life altering. The opening bands were Public Enemy and B.A.D..
My memories are vivid. My experience beyond spiritual. One of my fondest moments was hearing Adam Clayton's bassline for New Year's Day. To this day that lick is still one of the most recognizable openings to a fabulous song.
Over the years I've been to a multitude of U2 events. Most of them with great memories. My brother and I attended a concert in Indianapolis on Bono's birthday. The crowd sang a rousing happy birthday for him. Another interesting concert I attended was at the United Center in Chicago 2005. I was in the front row and they filmed The Vertigo tour that night. I had a camera man over my should the whole evening. I can find myself in the DVD too!
Fast forward a few years to 2017 for the Joshua Tree Tour. These photos were taken in Louisville at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. As usual an exhilarating evening with Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen Jr..
