Indianapolis, Indiana

Good things are happening for indie-rock band flipturn. The last time they were in Indy was also here at the Hi-Fi Indy back in March of 2022 when they opened a sold-out show for a band called Wilderado. Only a year later, they've sold the place out themselves, on a Sunday night.
Looking at their recent and upcoming schedule, selling out is the new norm. Fans were lined up thirty yards to get in an hour before the show, and it was wall to wall once the show started.
A new group from Athens, GA called Hotel Fiction opened the evening. The band, formed fairly recently by its two female lead singers, was very well received, playing many of their own tunes and a familiar cover or two.
After a short break, flipturn fired up the enthusiastic audience from beginning to end. The five-member band is from Fernandina Beach, Florida (which is, by the way, on Amelia Island, northeast of Jacksonville and great place to visit.)
The band consists of Dillon Basse (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Tristan Duncan (lead guitar), Madeline Jarman (bass), Mitch Fountain (synth) and Devon VonBalson on drums. Amongst many others, their songs "The Fall" and "Chicago" were both cheered and echoed by the audience. It was impressive.
By the way, a new restaurant, the Easy Rider Diner, is now open to/from the music venue and provides a little breathing space, an additional bar and restrooms,
and video feed of the show happening in the next room. This is a welcome addition to the space.
