The Double Trouble Double Vision Tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd

Few bands have as much song recognition across generations as Foreigner. Founded in 1976, (that's 50 years ago, folks) the band has had 10 multi-platinum albums and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024.
Even though no original members remain in Foreigner, Laura and I were excited to see them Friday night. We've seen them a couple of times the past few years and they sounded even better to us than when we saw them in the 70s and 80s.
This time was no exception.
New lead singer Luis Maldonado, who replaced Kelly Hansen in 2025, has completely embraced his frontman role. His energy was strong and positive as he poured his heart and soul (and quite a bit of sweat) into his performance. It was nice to see Maldonado express gratitude to his bandmates and the fans throughout the show.
Guitarists Bruce Watson, bassist Jeff Pilson, keyboardist Michael Bluestein and drummer Chris Frazier, all of whom have been with Foreigner for multiple years, gave performances that were clean, tight, and fun. Newest member guitarist John Roth, who recently replaced the ailing Mick Jones, was completely in synch with his bandmates, just as though he'd been playing with them all along.
Foreigner opened their set with "Double Vision," which is also half of the name of this tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd. The crowd immediately got to their feet for the power tune, cheering and singing along. "Head Games" was next up, followed by 10 more Foreigner classics and a beautiful cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Waters," which was dedicated to the fans. I have to admit "Cold as Ice" seemed a little ironic on a day that was 85 degrees with 90% humidity...just sayin'.
As they always do when on tour, Foreigner invited a local choir to join them onstage for "I Want to Know What Love Is." This year, members of the Fishers High School choir provided the choral vocals for Foreigner's biggest-ever hit.

Foreigner will be co-headlining with Lynyrd Skynyrd on the Double Trouble Double Vision tour through the end of August. They also have a series of headlining dates throughout the US and Europe coming up in 2026 and 2027. For more information, click here:
