Cody Jinks and The Tone-Deaf Hippies Band performed a memorable set Saturday night at Ruoff Music Center in support of Five Finger Death Punch's 20th

Anniversary World Tour. Although many were hesitant about a country artist opening for a metal band, it just worked.

Historically, outlaw country, southern rock, and mainstream rock have always had blurred lines. Cody Jinks and his band are a good depiction of a cross between the genres. They further proved that point by performing a cover of AC/DC's "It's A Long Way To The Top."

Jinks performed some of his hits such as "Must Be The Whiskey," "Hippies & Cowboys," and "Loud and Heavy." Lead guitarist Jake Lentner wowed the crowd with his many riffs performed alongside bassist Josh Thompsin. Austin "Hot Rod" Tripp added a special element to the show, playing the steel guitar during every song. Pianist Matt Nolan brought intimate acoustic vibes to the up-beat and otherwise loud performance and drummer David Colvin kept everyone seamlessly on beat.

Overall, this performance was just what the crowd needed before a heavy metal concert. After the powerful set by Eva Under Fire, Cody Jinks gave listeners a chance to unwind and soak it all in before headbanging the night away!

Cody Jinks will be on tour with Five Finger Death Punch and Eva Under Fire through the end of October, 2026. To get tickets or merch, listen, or learn more, click here:
