From Ashes to New (FATN) put on a killer show in at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The guys from Pennsylvania got the crowd totally amped up for Three Days Grace and Shinedown with their energy, attitude, and showmanship.

The four-piece band, which has been described as nu metal, rap metal, alt metal, metalcore, and rap rock, played a seven-song set that featured hits from their 10-year career. They started out super heavy with “Nightmare,” their brand-new single. I have to admit I wasn’t familiar with the tune (or much of their music, actually), but I liked it.

What really impressed me was the band’s energy. Frontman Danny Case, guitarist/bassist Matt Brandyberry and vocalist/guitarist Lance Dowdle were all over the stage, running, jumping and spinning. Drummer Mat Madiro was stuck in place, but he was hitting the skins with all his might. We found out that Danny Case was sick, but you couldn’t tell from his performance – he gave 100 percent for sure.

The set concluded with FATN’s most popular song, 2015’s “Through it All.” I did know this one, and I will say it sounded amazing live. Apparently everyone else thought so, too, because the cheers from the crowd were loud and long.

From Ashes to New is currently on tour with Three Days Grace on Shinedown’s “Revolutions Live” tour. That tour continues in the US through July 2023, and a dollar from each ticket sale will go to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. So far they’ve raised over $150,000.

FATN will also be joining Motionless in White and In this Moment’s upcoming summer tour on select dates, as well as playing festivals and headlining shows. For more info, check out their website here:
