KID Presents/Disco Donnie Presents Excision Indianapolis two days at The Pavilion: By Kate Lopez

Champagne Drip was up first Saturday night as part of the Excision Evolution tour. I cannot believe the production for an opening set was this amazing.  Normally people come late to shows but not this time. The Pavilion was packed early on. Blue lights streamed across the crowd, and the bass was so loud it shook your whole body, and also apparently the windows of a nearby church....

Wooli kept the energy up in the crowd as second to hit the stage.   The lasers intensified, but the bass was lowered since the state police had been called due to the noise level.   There was still plenty of bass for me and all the headbangers around me. I loved the visuals on the LED for this set.

Third up was Phase One. He came out with tons of energy and had the crowd raging in seconds. I almost felt like I was in a video game. The lasers kept coming from the front of the house, this time adding beautiful deep oranges into the color scheme.

EXCISION!!!!!! Where do I start?! Day 1 sold out so fast they added a second show... Ever heard of Lost Lands Festival? Yeah, that’s his.  That should give you an idea of the production value of this artist. Lasers, lasers, and more lasers. Did I mention the lasers? They were all around you. The front, the sides, everywhere. Shows like this make real life feel so ordinary. You will never see anything like it, and if the lasers weren’t enough he also had pyro and CO2. I mean, come on people. This is not an every day in Indiana experience we’re talking about here. This. Was. Incredible.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from a show like this. I usually gravitate towards the House,Trance, and Techno. I was pleasantly surprised at the kindness of the dubstep and bass crowd.   People moved for me, created little walls around me so I wouldn’t get bumped into while I was shooting, I even got a bracelet from one fan. They were so great. He should be proud he has fans like that.

I feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity to shoot a show like this. Next up...Excion Day TWO!!!
