I enjoyed a very pleasant surprise with the return of Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press to the HiFi Annex in Indy this past Saturday. There was talk of the Annex going dark this season, but that has not happened. In fact, there is a whole season schedule out, including Rod Tuffcurls the Bench Press again in July. (The HiFi's website link is below.) The venue has not changed. The staff is friendly and efficient and the outdoor space is comfortable, even when Sold Out, as this show was.

As for the show, if you've seen the fellas, you know it was GREAT. Nearly three hours of some of their best stuff. What is apparent, and I hope these pictures convey, is that these guys love EVERY SECOND of what they do and their joy is contagious. It is impossible to stand still and/or keep your mouth closed.

I was pleased to be joined by a family member who was a rookie to both the venue and the band. She is a concert aficionado and a Dave Matthews professional. Although she joked she could have done without the Taylor Swift number, she was impressed with how the guys took songs we all know, from very wide-ranging genres and made them their own. It is truly their specialty as they navigate Motown to Disney to country to a couple homemade numbers that get the crowd going.

Homemade numbers...that reminds me, I've got S#!T TO DO!!

Enjoy the pix and follow the band and venue. Guaranteed good times!
