Danish rockers Volbeat brought a thundering presence to Ruoff Music Center on August 21, 2025, making it a night to remember.

Volbeat, who is currently on tour in support of their latest album, God of Angels Trust, played a kick-ass, 17-song set that started with "The Devil's Bleeding Crown" and ended with "Still Counting," both of which are classics from the band's 24-year history. The set also included other hits, as well as cuts from the new album.

Frontman/rhythm guitarist Michael Poulsen, along with drummer Jon Larsen, bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen and lead guitarist Flemming C. Lund, brought great energy, positive vibes, and a damn good time to the assembled fans. Poulsen's stage presence was strong, as were his distinctive vocals. He had plenty of smiles, jokes, and anecdotes for the audience, who ate it all up.

But Volbeat's show wasn't just fun and games. The foursome played ferociously, which resulted in enthusiastic cheering, head banging and crowd surfing.

In addition to skillfully banging out a heavy set, Poulsen, Larsen, and Lund continually engaged the crowd with eye contact, nods, gestures, and pick tosses.

This was the start of a fun moment between Poulsen and Lund...
