I was first introduced to Misterwives several years ago by my daughter, who is a huuuge fan of the indie-pop band. I looked forward to seeing them the for the third time; it had been awhile, and I wondered how their performance at the ALL IN Festival would compare to the others. I must say I was disappointed. Not in the band, though; I was disappointed I only got to see a little bit of their set!
The band was tight and cohesive, even though they were physically spaced far apart from each other on the stage. Lead vocalist Mandy Lee danced, twirled, and sang with abandon, completely charming the audience. Her voice, while still sweet, has gained depth and power through the years, and she hasn’t lost her ability to connect with the crowd. Fellow members William Hehir, Etienne Bowler, Marc Campbell and Mike Murphy were also energetic and engaging - I’m happy to report Misterwives is better than ever!
