Atlanta-based Sevendust, who is currently on the road with Skillet on their Victorious War tour, put on a fantastic show for an enthusiastic crowd last weekend in Indianapolis. It was my first time seeing Sevendust live, despite the fact that they’ve been making music and touring for the past 20 years. I have to say these guys were awesome, and I kinda wish I had seen them sooner! They were fun to watch, and lead singer Lajon Witherspoon connected with the audience in a heartfelt way. Their 11-song set steadily ramped up in energy and intensity, starting with Dirty and ending with Thank You. My personal favorites were Black, which got the crowd jumping, and Thank You, which seemed heavier and much more meaningful when heard live. All five band members seemed to be really in sync with each other, and I really enjoyed watching drummer and founding member Morgan Rose whip around his bright-red dreads! The band sounded really strong – I’m anxious to hear their new album, which is scheduled to be released in October 2020
