311 at Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center ALT 103.3 Birthday Bash
Alt-rockers 311 brought plenty of loud, infectious energy to Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center for Alt 103.3’s Birthday Bash, and the crowd ate it up. Currently on a co-headlining tour with Dirty Heads, 311 have been together for 29 years, and they know how to entertain. They came out rocking with 1994’s Homebrew, a strong rock tune, and kept the audience on their feet through the entire 15-song setlist. Along with classics such as Beautiful Disaster and All Shook Up, 311 play

Dreamers at Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center ALT 103.3 Birthday Bash July 12, 2019
Dreamers, an LA-based trio, was the second act to take the stage at ALT 103.3’s Birthday Bash Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center. Currently on tour in support of 311 and Dirty Heads, Dreamers fused together indie, rock, pop, psychedelic, and techno sounds artfully, and threw in a little dash of pop punk for fun. The synergy between vocalist Nick Wold, guitarist Jacob Wick, and bassist Marc Nelson was evident throughout Dreamers’ enthusiastic, well-rehearsed set, making for an e

Doll Skin Bonus Review Live at The Deluxe at Old National Center, in Support of New Found Glory, Jun
If you’re into pop punk but you’re not familiar with Doll Skin yet, you’re doing something wrong. This all-female, four-piece band from Phoenix have been flexing their muscles and showing the boys who’s boss since they burst onto the scene in 2013. With numerous awards and tours, as well as two EPs and two albums under their belts, Doll Skin possess a poise and stage presence that belies their youthfulness. Case in point: despite significant technical difficulties Tuesday nig

Pop Punk Lineup Thrills Fans of All Ages at The Deluxe at Old National Centre New Found Glory, Real
The Deluxe at Old National Centre in Indianapolis was hot and loud Tuesday evening – just the way it should be for a night of in-your-face pop punk. Although I’m relatively new to the scene and have only seen a handful of pop punk shows, I love the speed, energy, and charisma of this particular genre. I also love that the music appeals to disenfranchised people of all ages, giving them not only a voice but also a community. Doll Skin, the fierce, female foursome from Phoenix

Stone Temple Pilots Live Review Bunbury Music Festival
As the sun began to cast long shadows on Day One of the Bunbury Music Festival, attendees flocked to the Sawyer Point stage to catch one of the heaviest bands in the lineup, Stone Temple Pilots (STP). They came on strong, opening with Wicked Garden, and they never let up. Frontman Jeff Gutt, along with guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo, and drummer Eric Kretz, put on a great performance – they were well-rehearsed, relaxed, and having fun onstage. These guys definitel

Dead & Company Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center, Noblesville, Indiana June 12, 2019
Although I’m way more of a Parrothead than I am a Deadhead, I was really looking forward to seeing Dead & Co., live at Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center. For as long as I can remember, the Grateful Dead, and later, Dead and Company, have been coming to this venue but I had never made it to a show before. And you know what? I really enjoyed it! The show started with “Cold Rain and Snow,” which was kind of ironic given the fact that it was beautiful summer evening. Guitarist/v

REO Speedwagon Keeps Pushin’ at Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park 06 11 19
If you had told 17-year-old me that one day the members of REO Speedwagon would be playing just a few feet away from me, I would have freaked right out. I mean, we’re talking about one of the most popular and prolific bands from my high-school and college days; the guys whose songs got me through more than one break-up, and whose lyrics we used to belt out at the tops of our lungs whenever they came on the radio. But it happened last night, and it made me ridiculously happy

Flora Cash – Bunbury 2019
As soon as Flora Cash took the stage the crowd was screaming in excitement. The first song had some slight technical difficulties with sound being a little too low. A few fans were screaming “turn up your mics!” after the song ended. Everything sounded perfect for the rest of the show. The beautiful chemistry between the two singers Shpresa Lleshaj and Cole Randall is very visible in their music and how they are on stage. They even shared a very loving kiss after their 3rd so

Triiibe The Bunbury 2019 Interview
I met up with Aziza Love near the back gate of the media area. She was talking with several people just before I walked over. Our photographer Laura had been speaking with her and asked if we could maybe get a quick interview. Aziza was so polite and sweet about out last-minute interview. Her friend had just asked her to hand over her pass to the concert venue, to which she did not want to give it up unless she would get it back. She wanted to keep it as a memory, and who cou

Sam Law Band Shines
The first time I saw Sam Law Band perform they were an opening act for the great Lou Gramm of Foreigner fame. It was an early set and there was an impending storm on the horizon. I was impressed. This band had a unique sound and very nice stage presence. After the show they were at their merchandise tent and surprised that I asked for their autograph. I love talented bands and for me I don't discriminate on whether a band is known worldwide or a local talent. Fast forward a f

Tori Kelly The Acoustic Sessions The Murat Theatre at Old National Centre 03/28/19
In front of a backdrop reminiscent of a cozy living room, singer-songwriter Tori Kelly fully connected with the crowd at The Murat Theatre on March 28, 2019. Accompanied only by her own guitar and that of Mateas Asato, she radiated quiet confidence as she filled the venue with her velvety voice. Fans were treated to several unreleased songs from her upcoming album, as well as Grammy-winning hits such as “Nobody Love.” Her 25-song setlist also included several covers and

Lindsey Stirling and Evanescence with Cellogram – Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center
Co-headliners Evanescence and Lindsey Stirling, currently on tour together, have distinctly different musical styles, visual and performance aesthetics, and messages, yet they complemented each other perfectly. Accompanied by a local orchestra, both acts artfully wove beautiful stories throughout the night, bringing thunderous applause, cheers, and tears to the adoring crowd. The night’s headliner, Lindsey Stirling, reminded me of a Gaelic faerie – she danced, ran, leaped, be
