Greta Van Fleet review Bunbury Festival 2019
Just before Greta Van Fleet took the stage every light in the place went dark. Although I am still not sure if that was planned by the band or just a random coincidence at the park. Either way it was pretty badass and totally what a rock band would do. About 60 seconds after the total darkness the stage lit up and this powerful sound came across the Bunbury Festival grounds. I had just started to walk to the back to get a photo of the depth of the crowd when the music started

REO Speedwagon Keeps Pushin’ at Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park 06 11 19
If you had told 17-year-old me that one day the members of REO Speedwagon would be playing just a few feet away from me, I would have freaked right out. I mean, we’re talking about one of the most popular and prolific bands from my high-school and college days; the guys whose songs got me through more than one break-up, and whose lyrics we used to belt out at the tops of our lungs whenever they came on the radio. But it happened last night, and it made me ridiculously happy

Run the Jewels: Bunbury Festival
For many, the first time they heard the name “Run the Jewels” was it’s mention in Killer Mike’s Netflix show, Trigger Warning with Killer Mike. RTJ, however, has been making waves since 2013, when legendary producer EI-P teamed up with Killer Mike to create a powerhouse hip-hop duo. While this isn’t the first time the two have worked together, Run The Jewels has become a smash-hit, boasting several awards and nominations for their work over the last six years and a line of cr

The Aces: Bunbury 2019
Drawing a surprisingly large crowd for their late-afternoon set time, Utah-based The Aces brought fabulous feminine energy to the main stage at Bunbury on Sunday. Bunbury was the first festival the pop four-piece played this year, but certainly not the last, as they’re slated to hop around to Mamby on the Beach, Austin City Limits, Life Is Beautiful, and more. The ladies of The Aces spent most of last Spring touring the U.S to promote their debut studio album, When my Heart F

Flora Cash – Bunbury 2019
As soon as Flora Cash took the stage the crowd was screaming in excitement. The first song had some slight technical difficulties with sound being a little too low. A few fans were screaming “turn up your mics!” after the song ended. Everything sounded perfect for the rest of the show. The beautiful chemistry between the two singers Shpresa Lleshaj and Cole Randall is very visible in their music and how they are on stage. They even shared a very loving kiss after their 3rd so

The Clarks
This particular band stood out to me because their sound was unlike like anything else at the Festival. Of course all bands have their own feel and sound, but The Clarks were a bit country compared to the alt-rock bands that were taking the stage in the days prior. I am not usually a big fan of country, but their mix of an alt-country rock really got my attention. I am now a big fan of their particular sound. The lead singer Scott Blasey had a wonderful stage presence as he b

Mesmerizing Poppy Bunbury Music Festival
Poppy took the stage and all of a sudden there were very loud screams coming from all directions. You could tell from the very first song their fans were there to bring the noise! Her see-through black bodysuit contrasted perfectly with her pure white hair. The guitarists were in all black jumpsuits and had silver painted faces with sleek black hair. It was obvious they were wanting to totally rock their looks. Each of them had a way of walking across stage effortlessly and g

Jai Wolf
Jai Wolf is the name Sajeeb Saha performs under. He was born in Bangladesh. Raised on the east coast. These divergent cultures breed a distinguished sound. With the recent release of The Cure To Loneliness, Jai Wolf's divergent upbringing blends multiple styles of musical influence. After attending his recent show in Indianapolis I am a believer. There's something very refreshing with Jai's musical sensibilities. A new originality, humbleness, accessibility and creativity on

Zac Clark What A Surprise
"I don't want to lose you now. I don't want to lose the chance, to love you later. Meet me when the moon gets full." Zac Clark sings these gorgeous words on his self titled album. The song Love You Later immediately caught my attention as I played the vinyl record for the first time recently. What is particularly interesting is the fact I became somewhat familiar with Zac as I photographed him at The Forecastle Music Festival a few years ago with Andrew McMahon and the Wilder

Robert Randolph and The Family Band
I have been fortunate enough to see Robert Randolph in multiple settings. From dive bars to music festivals. And he never disappoints. Last summer in Indianapolis Robert and his band rolled into town and set the stage on fire with fantastic tunes and exquisite command of the stage. Considered by many to be one of the finest slide steel guitarists of all time. As well as rated by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the top 100 guitarists of all time. He is a pure treat to witness

Shiny Penny
Well I must say I really didn't know Shiny Penny until Laura turned me on to them. I'm absolutely loving their EP Wait, Don't Hold. Wonderful tunes that remind me a bit of Maroon 5 mixed with Jamiroquai. All Time Low Receives Adoration, Unmentionables
After spending an entire day at the Vans Warped Tour last month, I thought I was prepared for what I’d see at the All Time Low’s pop-punk show at the Old National Centre in Indianapolis on August 5th. I was wrong. I expected all the screaming fans, most of them female. I also anticipated the super-high energy level (and fans). What caught me off guard was the bra that suddenly flew onto the stage from the packed audience, soon to be joined by others. Although I found this ent

38 Special Reliving The Past
Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center 08/04/18 You know that one song that helped you get through a rough patch in high school? Mine was 38 Specials’ “Hold on Loosely.” To say I was excited to see 38 Special again was a bit of an understatement – although it had been a hot minute since I’d seen them live, I was pretty confident they’d still put on an outstanding show in support of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Farewell Tour. And I was right. They hit the ground running by opening with a high-e
